while引導的從句分析

while引導的狀語從句 注意：（1）注意while的不同含義：a. 表示時間，“當??時；在??同時”；b. 表示讓步，“雖然；儘管”；c. 表示轉折對比，“然而；但”。（2）while引導的狀語從句用一般現在時表示將來的動作或狀態。⑦

Eg. While I understand your opinion, I don’t agree with you.

While it’s winter here in our country right now, it’s summer in South Africa. when引導的句子：

when作連詞時，主要義項有：（1）在那時，突然??；

Eg. He was about to tell me the secret when someone patted him on the should.

（2）當??時候；（3）剛（一）??就??；

Eg. I’ll go to see you when you come back.

（4）如果（同if）；

Eg. Call me at once when anything goes wrong with the machine.

（5）可是，雖然；

Eg. She usually walks when she might ride.

（6）既然（同since）

Eg. Why did you write with a pencil when you know you should write in ink?

when和while引導的時間狀語從句與這一時態連用。所以區別when和while的'用法成了這一單元的難點。

（一）、when，while都有“當……時候”的意思。

when既可表示某一點時間，也可以表示某一段時間 。在when引導的時間狀語從句中，其謂語動詞可以是延續性的，也可以是非延續性的，可與主句中的謂語動詞同時發生，也可在其後發生。

例如：

1、I was just reading a book when she came into my room.

她走進我房間時，我正在看書。

2、Were you writing when the teacher came in?

老師進來的時候，你在寫信嗎？

3、When he was a child he was always trying out new ideas.while表示對比引導的是什麼從句。

他小時候就常常試驗一些新的設想。

（二）、while只能表示某一段時間，不能表示某一點時間。在while引導的時間狀語從句中，其謂語動詞只能是延續性的，而且也只能與主句中的謂語動詞同時發生或存在。

例如：

1、While Jim was mending his bike, Lin Tao came to see him.

正當吉姆修自行車時，林濤來看他。

2、You can’t do your homework while you’re watching TV.

你不能一邊看電視一邊做家庭作業。

（三）、另外，when和while的區別還在於：while引導的時間狀語從句多用進行時態，而when引導的時間狀語從句多用一般時態。 例如：

1、While they were talking , the bell rang.

正在他們談話的時候，上課鈴響了。

2、I was doing my homework when my mother came back home yesterday evening.

昨天晚上媽媽回家的時候，我正在做家庭作

when as while

① when 表示較短的時間,有的時候也可以指一段時間。如:

When he was young, he could do eat much more than his brother.

② while常表示一段較長的時間,強調主句謂語動詞與從句謂語動詞同時發生。如:

你的第三道題就是這樣。

③ 只用as, 不用when或while的時候。

A) 用於表示同一個人的兩種動作交替進行,指"一邊……,一邊……"。如:

The girl dances as she sings on the stage.

B)表示兩個同步發展的動作或行為,譯為"隨著……"。如:

As time went on, she became more and more worried.

when和while的區別

都表示“當......時候”的區別。請觀察以下句子：

While in Vienna he studied music.

他在維也納時學習音樂。 While he was eating, I asked him to lend me $2.

當他正在吃飯時,我請他借給我二英鎊。 While two detectives were keeping guard at the door, two others opened the parcel.

這時兩個偵探把著門,另外兩個開啟包裹。 While I read, she sang.

我看書時，她在唱歌。 I met her while I was at school.

當我在學校的時候我遇見了她。 Edison was not a good student when he was a young boy.

愛迪生小時候不是一個成績好的學生。 When the plane arrived, some of the detectives were waiting inside the main building while others were waiting on the airfield.

當飛機抵達時,一部分偵探等在主樓裡面,而另一部分則等在停機坪上。 When I came home my wife was cooking dinner.

我回家時，妻子在做晚飯。

通過觀察，我們可以這樣理解：when引導的從句裡動作發生的時間相對主句動作發生的時間要短些；while引導的從句裡的動作發生的時間相對主句而言更長些。

333 as，when，while意為although（儘管），

but（但是），seeing that（鑑於）

A 只有在形容詞+as+主語+to be／to seem／to appear這一結構中，as才意為though／although（儘管）：

Tired as he was he offered to carry her．相當於：

Though he was tired he offered to carry her．

儘管他很累了，他還主動提出要揹著她。

Strong as he was，he couldn’t lift it．

儘管他力氣很大，他仍提不起這個東西。

B while可意為but，用於表示強調對比：

‘At sea’means‘on a ship’，while‘at the sea’means‘at the seaside’． “At sea”意為“在船上”，而“at the sea”意為“在海灘上”。

Some people waste food while others haven’t enough．

一些人糟踏食物而另一些人卻食不果腹。

while可以意為although，這時常放在句首：

While I sympathize with your point of view I cannot accept it．

儘管我認同你的觀點，但我不能接受它。

C when可以意為seeing that／although（鑑於）。因此它同while 很相似，但主要用於引導使另一個動作顯得不合理的陳述句。

它常用在一個問句裡，但不是一定如此：

How can you expect your children to be truthful when you yourself tell lies？ 你自己都在撒謊，怎麼能指望你的孩子們誠實？

It’s not fair to expect her to do all the cooking when she has had no training or experience．

她沒有受過烹調方面的訓練，也沒有這方面的經驗，讓她把做飯的事全部承擔下來是不公平的。

D 請務必不要搞混when與if的用法。
