Many animals are in danger of dying out. As is clearly shown in the bar chart, the kinds of wild animals have decreased sharply in the past decades. With 30,000 wild animals reduced on average each year, there were only 1.5 million left till 20xx.

There are several reasons accounting for this problem. Apart from the polluted environment and natural disasters, illegal killing is an important reason. Human beings are making attempts to hunt wild animals for fashion and a big profit, which can be seen vividly from the right picture. This has resulted in a sharp decrease in the number of animals.

In my opinion, it is high time for us to take quick action to protect them. A national public campaign should be launched to give animals a good living environment. Today is the Moon Festival, so my mother broght me and my sister to a hypermarket to buy something for the barbecue. It took us almost half a hour by MRT. When we got off the MRT, I just stretched a little bit and yawned. Because it really took some time.

The hypermarket was in a building next to the MRT station. It was much bigger than the supermarket near my house, where it only takers us 5 minutes to go. It was about 7 O’clock, so I could see many kinds of people there, like workers, housewives, students, and even some police officers. Some were looking for clothes, others were looking for furniture, and still some others were trying these samples. I jumped, touched, and looked around, because everyhing was so fresh and interesting. It took about three hours to for us to walk around there.

We bought a lot of things, like pork, beef, vegetables and some fish. I helped my mother carry some heavy things. I was so tired after I got home, but it was really fun to go to the hypermarket. I hope I can go with my classmates next time, and buy something I want.

I have been to Taipei Zoo about once a year. The zoo is like a hotel for animals. The animals come from many parts of the world. The animals that came from Africa are elephants, lions, zebras, camels, ostriches, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, giraffes, hyenas, monkeys, and cheetahs, Kangaroos came from Australia. Tigers came from Malaysia. Penguins came from South America. There are a lot of native animals, anteaters, rattlesnakes, beautiful birds and fish, and so on. As snakes are dreadful-looking, people are afraid of them. Many people drive them away whenever they see snakes. But in Chinese fairy tales, snakes are by no means bad. They seem to have human feelings. They can change into pretty girls. People like and respect them. The most well-known is the story about the White Snake and the Blue Snake.

In fact, snakes are not as dreadful as they look. They can help us to kill mice and pests. They can provide us with delicious meat. Their blood is a good drink. Poisonous snakes are especially useful. We can make valuable drugs with them.

Panda is one of the scarcest animals. People in the world like it very much. there used to be many pandas in China long ago. As the balance of nature was destroyed and the weather was getting warmer and warmer, pandas became less. But at present, the number of pandas is increasing year by year. there are now so many pandas that some are being sent to other countries so that people there can enjoy them.

Nowadays, the biggest nature park for panda in China is in Sichuan. there is a research centre for nature and wild life there. Scientists hope that one day they will have enough pandas to be set free and let them live in the wild again.
